Swiss kick-off with the first start-up pitches and a distinguished visitor delegation

CeBIT, the world’s largest B2B trade fair for the digital economy, opens today in Hanover. Switzerland will offer the international mix of visitors outstanding exhibitors, exciting keynotes at the SWISS Pavilion Arena and innovative start-up pitches. Ambassador Christine Schraner Burgener officially opened the SWISS Pavilion in Hall 6 today at noon.

After Switzerland’s success as the official Partner Country at CeBIT 2016, this year’s appearance will focus on the innovative power of Switzerland as a whole. ICTswitzerland Chairman and National Councillor Marcel Dobler is looking forward to a strong Swiss presentation. “Information and communication technologies are central pillars for the development of our society and economy. They drive progress and innovation. At CeBIT, the world will be introduced to Switzerland as an impressive leader in innovation and a tireless promoter of digitalisation.”

Swiss exhibition areas on the trade fair grounds
At the central SWISS Pavilion in Hall 6, over 30 Swiss exhibitors will present their products and services in a synergistic blend of innovative start-ups, established companies and academic institutions that are all at a top international level. Another SWISS Pavilion, with a focus on Communication & Networks, is located in Hall 12. Furthermore, for the first time a SWISS Start-up Pavilion has been established in SCALE11 (Hall 11) especially for Swiss ICT start-ups. With professional trade fair support and financial assistance through grants from private and government organisations, Swiss start-ups at CeBIT 2017 will be provided the best opportunities for taking the first step towards export activities. The driverless SmartShuttles from PostAuto will also be on display in Hall 13, where visitors can take a test ride.

See the current Exhibitor List for further information about the Swiss exhibitors.
